Dinner is done, the show has left everyone somewhere between champagne and mischief, and that's exactly when our wooden photo booth starts to draw a queue. We've been living that scene for three seasons now. And if there's one place that has taught us what it means for a photo booth to be worthy of a venue, it's this one.

What Lío Ibiza is

For anyone who doesn't know it: Lío isn't just another club. It's a dinner show, a cabaret and a club, all in one place, right on the water at Ibiza's marina. You have dinner looking out over the harbour, the show arrives — dancers, performers, a production that never drops its standards — and the night ends in full club mode. It's one of those names that turns up on every "what to do on a night out in Ibiza" list and on the radar of anyone travelling to the island for the best of it. With more than three thousand reviews and a price tag that is anything but cheap, the bar is set high for everything, down to the last detail.

In a place like that, every supplier has to fit in without making a fuss. And a photo booth, which by its nature takes up a visible corner all night, is one of the first things people notice if it looks out of place.

For three seasons, our photo booth has been part of Lío through the season. It isn't a one-off set-up for a single event: we're there week after week for the whole season, with the kit in place before the first guest arrives and running until the party is properly in full swing.

That continuity changes things. When you work the same venue every week you stop improvising: you know the light in each area, you know where you're in the way and where you're not, you learn to move between the catering, the performers and the club team without getting in anyone's path. That craft — being present in a big venue without anyone noticing you — is exactly what we then bring to a wedding at a villa or a private dinner.

A photo booth that doesn't break the look of the room

The model we have at Lío is our wooden booth on an easel, the most editorial in our range. It isn't a plastic cabin with coloured lights; it's a piece of solid wood that, switched off, looks more like an antique than a machine. That's the whole idea. In a room with red velvet, theatre curtains and gold detailing, the booth had to add to the scene, not draw attention for the wrong reason.

Around it, the corner is looked after like the rest of the venue: a red velvet Chesterfield sofa, the gold Perrier-Jouët photocall behind, and just enough light for the photos to come out well even with the club at half-light. The guest sits down, poses, and in under ten seconds has their printed copy in hand. No waiting, no codes, no odd screens. You grab your photo and carry on with the night.

There's a part of the venue, the Toy Room, with a stone wall and neon signs, where the mood shifts completely. There the booth sits alongside the props and the cheeky signage without losing its own line. It's a good example of what we do: adapt to the space rather than impose our own set.

What Lío teaches us about events in Ibiza

Ibiza has its own way of raising the bar. People here have seen it all, so a nice keepsake isn't enough: it has to be well made, handed over fast and fit into a setting that is already spectacular on its own. Working every week at a place like Lío makes you sharpen the things that would go unnoticed elsewhere: print quality in low light, speed when there's a queue, a discreet set-up, dealing with a crowd used to the best.

All of that is what we bring to a wedding.
